Do you use a MP3 Player?
52If you are like me and millions of other entrepreneurs, you have a regular job that supports you and your family until your business is profitable enough to become your plan A. Most people have to commit at least 10 hours a day to their job. If you can multi task this a great time to brain storm, or construct a mental to-do-list.
Today while I was working my Job, I was thinking about my Web Development business. My soon to be Plan A. This is something I do often because my Job is of the physical nature. I have been running a Handyman Business for the last five years. And I am currently spending as much time as I can to make the transition, so I''m always thinking about business.
I have often noticed that while working, I am either listening to my MP3 player or think about my other business. During this time I often come up with a lot of great ideas, work on my to-do-list and plan my activities. The problem comes in with trying to remember these thoughts until it is time to utilize them. So today I had an idea(while painting).
I noticed that my MP3 player has a record function. The light bulb went off just then. I can dictate memos to myself on the fly. No more forgetting those great ideas because I do not have time to grab a pen and paper. There are many small inexpensive MP3 available on the market. I suggest getting one that is light in weight and can hang around your neck . It should also have a external mic and a record button.
At the end of your day, or when you set down to work on your business you should play back your recordings. Sort your recordings as needed. Your business ideas should be logged into your business journal. To-do items should be added to your to-do-list.
Small changes such as these can increase your productivity, creativity and results. Give it a try and let me know how it work for you. Feel free to post any other tips or techniques that you use.
